Shilpa Kala Mandapam
As advised by the Kanchi Maha Periawal, a Shilpa Kala Mandapam errected and thrown open to public on the 18th September, 1983.

The Mandapam which houses a Music Pillar in the Centre is surrounded by four stone chorus, a stone bell, an idol of Vishwakarma, and a calf named Nandan . The calf is one of the sculptural excellence, if a thin stick is inserted in one of the nostrils of the calf, it will emerge out of the opposite nostril.
On the wall of the mandapam, a trellised window in flower design has been put up. The ceiling of the mandapam has eaves on the three sides, each eave is 20" broad and is very gracefully carved. Two yallis with rolling stones in their mouths were also placed atthe entrance of the mandapam.

The Shilpa Kala Mandapam has no religious significance but it is certainly a pointer to the cultural excellence of South India.
