Sree Uttara Swami Malai popularly known, as
"Malai Mandir"
comprises the
temples of Sree Swaminatha Swami, Sree Karpaga
Vinayakar, Sree Sundareswarar and Devi
Meenakshi.
The temples reflect the glory and grandeur of South Indian Temple
Architecture at its best.

The temple complex of
Sree Uttara Swami Malai, reverentially named as “Malai Mandir” a
harmoniously blended Tamil World “Malai” with the Hindi word “Mandir” by
the people of Delhi, with Sree Swaminatha Swami as the Presiding Deity, has
been attracting an increasing number of people of all classes of people
from India and abroad year after year and has become an important landmark
of Delhi.

The temple of the
Presiding Deity was consecrated and the Maha Kumbhabhishekam was performed on the 7th
of June, 1973. The temple of Sree Karpaga Vinayakar, Sree Sundareswarar and Devi Meenakshi were
consecrated and the Maha Kumbhabhishekam performed on the 13th
June 1990. The Navagraha temple along with a temple of Idumban was consecrated on the 7th
of July, 1995. The Adi Sankara Hall was inaugurated on the 9th
of November, 1997. The third Punarudharana, Ashtabhandhana,
Swarna Rajathabhandana Mahakumbhabhishekam of the temple was peformed on the 27th
of June, 2001.
The year 2007 was unique in the annals of the Temple. An Eka
Koti Archana was performed withal solemnity and intense devotion. One crore recitals of the sacred
Namavalis of Lord Swaminatha Swami uttered in the sonorous harmonious
unison by twelve learned Sivacharyas continuously 120 days for the benefit
of not only the participating devotee, but also to the people at large, the
country and above all humanity as a whole.
It is the earnest belief of the devotees that with the successful
completion of the Eka Koti Archanas, the sanctity and dignity of the temple
has increased manifold.
With
the infinite Graceof LordSwaminathaSwami one is inclined toview the future
progress of theSamajin itsservices to the devotees, with great
expectations. It has embarked on the comprehensiveBuilding Project trying toimprove(a) a widerange of infrastructural facilities in
the temple complex for thebenefit of the devotesviz-a well equippedmodern
office, q wider auditorium for the assembly of devotees, anadditional
kitchen and (b) extension of social welfare benefits to theemployees,
including provision of more number of residences andrenovation with
increase of living space their existingresidences. Provision has alsobeen
made for a library and a VedaPatasalafor which attempts are being initiated
to secure some additionalallotment of land. Thiscomposite Building renovation and extension Project is expected to
takeabout three years for its execution

With the
completion of the Project, as envisaged, with the Infinite Grace of Lord
Swaminatha Swamo, the Malai Mandir is expected to emerge as a well
integrated, magnificent, artistic structure, serving in various ways the
spiritual and temporal needs of the devotees. While sharing this information with the
devotees, the Board of Management of the Samaj seeks the co-operation and
support of the devotees in general.

(a) Donations made towards the
renovation and repair of the Sree Swaminatha Swami Temple qualifies for
income Tax rebate u/s Section 80G(2)(b) of the Income Tax Act,1961.
(b) Sree Swaminatha Swami Seva Samaj has
been registered under the Foreign Contributions (Registration) Act 1976 and
consequently eligible to receive foreign donations for religious purpose.
With
the Benign Grace of the Lord and the devotional co-operation of His
devotees, the Board of Management is ever confident of marching ahead and
fulfilling their expectations in the future years.
